ROCKWOOL Group supports push to enhance EU legislation on energy efficiency

2 มีนาคม 2559

The ROCKWOOL Group has joined forces with over 70 companies and business organisations to call on the European council to strengthen its policies on energy efficiency and renewable energy.

In a letter co-signed with major businesses in various industries, the European Council is urged to foster a "low-carbon economy" by coming up with targets and measures to "reduce overall energy consumption through energy efficiency" and help to replace the remaining energy used with renewables.

"The European Council and the Environment Council should recognize the huge economic and social potential of a proper interaction between energy efficiency and renewable energy," says the letter. Such an approach would support all the dimensions of the Energy Union, the goals of the COP21 (UN climate change conference held in Paris) and justify the reopening of a discussion around (the EU's) 2030 targets.

The content of the letter is highly relevant to ROCKWOOL Group, as Sustainability is an excellent platform for our long-term growth.

The letter was sent to the European Council and Environment Council. It has also been distributed to journalists, European Commissioners, key Commission officials, MEPs and Permanent Representations.
