Are you prepared to revolutionize intralogistics processes across all ROCKWOOL factories worldwide? Our mission is to redefine material flow, minimize manpower involved in the movement and storage of semi-finished and finished products, and advance digitalization throughout our factories.

Your Future Team:

You will become part of Internal Logistics. We are a diverse team of 11 individuals, one of the youngest engineering teams by age. We represent 6 different nationalities across 3 locations, mainly in Denmark and Poland. We have expertise in mechanical, electrical, automation and process engineering as well as project management.

What you will be doing:  

You will be equipment responsible for our eTruck solution that is part of our intralogistics technologies portfolio. We equip our forklifts with a tablet, GNSS, RFID and connect it via either WIFI or 4/5G. You will be a vital contributor throughout various project phases, from conceptual studies to design, testing, commissioning and providing engineering support. Furthermore, you will be responsible to ensure our solution is updated and tested when new software or hardware versions are launched from suppliers. Additionally, you will actively participate in large-scale logistical projects on a global scale, with a primary focus on Europe, Asia, and North America. In this job you are expected to:

  • Take ownership of our eTruck solution.
  • Become technology expert within GNSS, RFID and Wireless Communications.
  • Lead the entire lifecycle in our projects from designing based the client´s fleet, procurement, testing (FAT), installation, commissioning (SAT) and to ensure full documentation.
  • Drive the continuous improvement process with the project team across engineering, development, IT and the superuser community.
  • Ensure our solution is updated and tested when new software or hardware versions are launched from suppliers.
  • Keep an overview of current approved product variants and how they can be configured together to meet business needs.
  • Keep an overview of current configurations in operation and support existing installations through 3rd line support.
  • Communicate with suppliers and follow up to secure compliance with specific design needs
  • Participate in budgeting and the development of tender material for suppliers
  • Work closely with clients to understand their specific needs and requirements, providing technical expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with other colleagues such as IT, electrical, mechanical, automation and civil to ensure seamless integration with overall system functionality.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in intralogistics technology, continuously enhancing your skills and knowledge base.
  • Participate in making the department an inspiring and rewarding place to work by sharing knowledge, support your colleagues in their professional growth and participate in developing and executing department strategies.

Although your new desk will be located in the Nowy Rynek building in central Poznań, Poland, you will often travel primarily in Europe but could also be around North America and Asia – mostly to meet with colleagues and suppliers and to supervise the implementation of your projects. You can expect to travel 60-80 days per year, with trips varying from just a couple of days to a few weeks at a time. Know, however, that you will rarely be alone.

Furthermore, you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or IT; Master's degree preferred - preferably electrical engineering, mechatronics, or software engineering
  • 3+ years of proven experience in the design, development, and implementation of systems where hardware and software are one welded solutions preferably within the intralogistics or electronics industry.
  • Experience with GNSS, RFID and Wireless Communications technology.
  • You are knowledgeable about the supplier landscape within intralogistics solutions for the industry.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment where components change frequently (in months rather than years).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
  • Experience within project management and ability to provide decision ready documentation.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong collaborative spirit, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication skills, and you are fluent in English
