Job Description:

Responsible for operating and maintaining of the WinCC controlled production line from the Stacker outlet through to the packaging equipment.

Reports to: Shift Supervisor

Job Purpose:

To operate equipment in a safe, effective and efficient manner according to company standards, in order to support the production of quality mineral fiber insulation products within the Company’s parameters of Material Efficiency, Time Efficiency and Linewool II.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

Safety

The PMO must be familiar with the potential dangers involved in his/her job and take the appropriate safety measures. This job involves working with moving conveyors, heating and welding equipment and granulators. Must have a complete understanding of the lockout procedure and what machines need to be locked out in their area of responsibility

Environment

The PMO ensures that the trash is going to the trash container, while recycle materials are disposed of in the correct manner for recycling.

Quality

The PMO ensures that correct FO/Material numbers, the correct bags/packaging and labels are being used. He/she monitors the equipment to ensure good seal and proper quality packaging,

Operation

The PMO monitors all Cold End equipment through Cold End cameras in order to catch issues early. He/she prepares for product change in advance of production and keeps a proper inventory of labels and printing supplies.

  • Set-up and monitor labeling system for packaging equipment
  • Change Shrink rolls for Shrink packages as necessary
  • Verifies that foil carriages are properly located and adequately supplied
  • Assists with product changes and hand stacking if necessary.
  • Re-wrap undamaged product and properly report and dispose of damaged/faulty product
  • Locate and correct improperly labeled products

Operation

  • Monitors alarms, immediately taking corrective action to remedy problems
  • Communicates any unusual conditions or equipment breakdowns
  • Relieve, organize breaks and do rotations, to maintain maximum output, workload and efficiency
  • Assists general Cold End operators to ensure that equipment is operated properly, and products are packed correctly
  • Keeps the work area, including workstation on PMO deck clean and organized
  • Inform the next shift of any problem or task which was not completed on your shift and still needs attention
  • Works in a safe manner always and adheres to established Safety rules
  • Any other tasks as necessary or designated by the Production Supervisor or the Production Lead

Cleaning 

  • Leads the team members, along with the Lead, that the Supervisor assigns to you and ensures as fair a rotation of cleaning as possible
  • Ensures that the area of responsibility is kept clean and tidy. All garbage bags that are full must be emptied before end of shift
  • Ensures PMO deck, including desks and drawers are always clean and tidy.

Documentation

  • Maintains accurate start-up, rounds and shutdown checklists
  • Maintains accurate equipment cleaning records and ensures initials as required
  • Posts and reads ROPEX issues as posted on Notes on the Cold End Machine board
