This is the role

AP Manager plays an important role within the ROCKWOOL Global Business Service Center (RGBS) organization and directly reports to RGBS Head. The department consists of five teams, which provide services for ROCKWOOL Group in Europe and North America. The Manager takes responsibility for the Accounts Payable (AP) and Travel & Entertainment claim (T&E)  processes and RGBS driven projects in this area and all engagements related hereto, including managing stakeholders' expectations to provide adequate service and support as per established Service Level Agreements (SLA).

The AP Manager needs to facilitate effective, efficient and well controlled operations with a high level of efficiency against agreed targets. The person holding this position has the ability to design, drive and implement AP projects leading to process improvements in close collaboration with the Systems & Process department.

The AP Manager leads a stable AP team staffed with motivated people but also many young talents and must focus on offering solutions (training) to increase and bring everybody on the same level of knowledge. 

Main responsibilities:

1. Oversee Account Payable processes:

  • Ensure AP process is performed according to the existing policies and that there are adequate controls and these are not compromised

  • Monitor, review and refine Performance monitoring & reporting, incl. SLA and KPI metrics  on a regular basis and take appropriate action

  • Monitor compliance to the process and manages governance around this

2. Projects / Continuous Improvement

  • Drive standardization across countries & regions(with the business process owners team)

  • Driving efficiency and improving of data quality, Initiate and review cost / benefit analysis of activities to enhance process performance

  • Identification and successful execution of continuous improvement such as the best practice, cost reductions, business opportunities by a joint cooperation with Group Business Process Owners

  • Review, monitor and update AP and T&E policies, procedures, manuals, flowcharts and projects

  • Supporting of group projects completion

3. Stakeholder Management:

  • Maintain and establish excellent internal and external working relationships (Procurement departments, vendors, auditors, Finance, business etc.), ensuring excellent support

  • Act as key contact to all external groups which affect / are affected by the process.

  • Support internal and external audit requests and remediate whenever necessary

  • Support of stakeholder governance model including quarterly performance reviews for internal customers

4. People Management:

  • Setting standards and managing talent development, including appraisals, staff succession planning, workforce capabilities, etc.

  • Manage, motivate and lead the AP department in the execution of their day-to-day activities and objectives. Ensure that the department functions effectively and efficiently.

  • Is accountable for budgeting staff / resource expenses.

5. Participating in RGSB Finance Strategy design and deployment

This is what you offer

  • Min 10 year of working experience and at least 5 year experience at a managerial position

  • Minimum of 5 year working experience in SSC/BPO environment

  • Experience in managing team leads and multiple process teams

  • Fluency in English

  • University degree (preferable in finance, economy, MBA)

  • Advanced knowledge of finance, SSC processes and Procurement processes

  • Ability to successfully manage, delegate and execute multiple tasks

  • Analytical skills and problem solving skills

  • Proven drive towards the best quality and efficiency (continuous improvement)

  • Strong affinity with automation and standardization

  • (Internal) customer focus

  • People oriented managerial style with a team player attitude

  • Anticipating on things and proactively taking up an initiative

  • Business oriented mind set and acumen

  • Projects leading/supporting experience
