This is the role:

The Tile Project Engineer, reports directly to the Director of Engineering and is based out of our facility in Chicago, IL. In this role you will plan, coordinate, and implement complex development projects within Rockfon and Rockwool and/or third party suppliers and partners.  The primary focus will be on tile products in the short term.

Key Result Areas

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects to a successful conclusion, meeting all stakeholder expectations
  • Ensure all relevant approvals, environmental, health & safety, and regulatory requirements for each project are met
  • Coordinate the necessary investments and properly research each request
  • Coordinate all aspects of the projects from beginning to end, including coordination with multiple plants, sister divisions, suppliers, and departments within Rockfon
  • Coordinate raw material developments in relation to the projects
  • Develop a solid internal network with RFNA engineering, marketing, quality, operations, supply chain, GSP, Group Development, Group Technology, and Rockwool operations
  • Develop a solid external network with laboratories, regulatory agencies, suppliers, and third-party suppliers
  • Ability to work independently, leading cross-functional teams, to meet company objectives
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is properly controlled and communicated to key stakeholders

This is what you offer:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree preferred, or highly technical college degree with related and proven experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in project management, ideally within the building products industry
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong leadership, analysis, and decision-making skills
