Warehouse Lead Job Summary
The Warehouse – More than an area to facilitate the distribution of goods, it’s an integral part of the ROCKWOOL supply chain that provides day-to-day management of finished goods, the housing of inventory, and is responsible for on-time shipment of products to meet customer orders. The Warehouse Lead is responsible for assisting in the tasks of job direction, training of employees and management of warehouse according to space/layout, production plan and budgeted cost. This position reports directly to the Team Leader or Area Leader. Be part of a team motivated by continuous improvement, operational uptime, and ensuring the efficient movement of our product across the United States at our manufacturing facility in Ranson, WV.
What are the day-to-day responsibilities of a Warehouse Lead?
Manages department schedules and ensures deadlines are adhered to through appropriate task delegation and employee shift scheduling.
Works in close cooperation with production departments to maintain a successful working relationship.
Assists in offering task direction, strategic direction, training and development of employees within the warehouse.
Follows up on key performance indicators and coaches and develops employees to reach set metrics.
Coordinates the organization of any overtime staffing requirements at the instruction of the Team Leader or Area Leader.
Communicates with the Maintenance Department regarding all machinery issues.
Provides leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices and safety conscious behavior.
Manages inventory accuracy through monitoring of daily warehouse activities, cycle counts and audit of same to verify results and accuracy of inventory
What professional skills and qualifications do you need for the role of a Warehouse Lead?
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2-3 years warehouse experience.
Previous experience leading a group of employees in a warehouse experience.
Previous experience operating a forklift, clamp truck, or electric pallet jack is preferred in a continuous flow manufacturing or industrial environment.
Grow and develop the team by sharing knowledge and experience.

The employee must frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 60 pounds and/or occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 120 pounds with another person, shovel heavy waste to shoulder height, operate a powered industrial vehicle and use sharp instruments safely and effectively.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
