Packaging Technician Job Summary

No stone wool insulation is customer ready without our signature ROCKWOOL packaging. In the Packaging Technician role, you will be responsible for running the production line from the stacking equipment through to the packaging equipment. Reporting to the shift Team Leader you safely and effectively operate, clean, troubleshoot and perform basic preventative maintenance to the machinery in the assigned area, continuously focused on supporting the consistent flow of high-quality product and operational uptime.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities of a Packaging Technician?

· Diligently monitor product coming off the line alongside the Quality Technician to ensure that consistency against our quality standards for stone wool and packaging.

· Controls the interface that directs product to various packaging machines while operating in regular communication with other members of the operations team.

· Work with conveyors, heating, welding equipment and granulators while upholding safety and environmental standards.

· Conduct basic troubleshooting of equipment and act as a first line defense for process, mechanical and technical issues.

· Ensure volumes are produced and delivered against production plan and key performance indicators.

What professional skills and qualifications do you need for the role of a Packaging Technician?

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

· Previous continuous flow manufacturing or industrial experience and working with automated equipment preferred.

· Demonstrated or proven:

o Organizational and analytical skills;

o Basic computer knowledge and skills;

o Acute attention to detail;

o Written and verbal communication skills;

The employee is occasionally required to hear, walk, climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk, and smell.

The employee must frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 60 pounds and/or occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 120 pounds with another person, shovel heavy waste to shoulder height.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
