Empowered to meet technical challenges

Providing operations with high-end technical solutions and ensuring continuous improvements, you will play an important role in our continued expansion worldwide. From day one, you will get responsibilities to engage in projects and help solve operational challenges. In our team-oriented environment, you will work among colleagues who are highly skilled and passionate about what they do. The variety of possibilities and the empowerment we provide, will allow you to grow and gain new experiences.

Are you ready to build and upgrade our internal logistics processes and solutions for all ROCKWOOL’s factory sites globally?

Right now, we are redefining the way we handle our material flow and reducing the manning needs of moving and storing semi-finished and finished products internally. Our goal is to optimise and automate our internal logistics solutions – and we need your help to get started.

This is who we are
At our HQ in Hedehusene, you will become part of Group Technology counting more than 170 skilled colleagues delivering the production equipment used by our factories globally. Here, you will join our GT Cold End and Systems team of approximately 30 engineers and collaborate across functions, teams and national borders.

As the internal logistics area is a new add-on to the team, you can expect a high degree of responsibility and influence – and more colleagues to come.
“If you have a vast logistics toolbox and a holistic approach, this is the role for you. Here, you will have a key role ensuring that our logistics processes and efforts become a success” says Head of Department Palle Yde Poulsen.

This is the role
You will manage the internal logistic projects securing that products are handled efficiently and traceable. Your first order of business will be to create an overview of and understand the challenges, making sure that the high volume – and often complex flow – of materials is clarified.
Doing so, you will elaborate and specify the solutions using your knowledge of pro's and con's of available technical solutions. Lastly, you will ensure the implementation and commissioning of the equipment together with the team. In short, you will be facilitating the processes from early idea to handing over of the highly automated solution.

Some of your key tasks will therefore be to:

  • Map out and analyse the material flow of both raw and semi-finished goods, pallets, etc. in terms of amount and timing
  • Prepare layout proposals including flow routes, buffer zones and storage as well as defining the technical needs in collaboration with subcontractors
  • Present and review the solutions and concepts with relevant stakeholders and management
  • Create detailed equipment specifications, prepare tender documents as well as clarify suppliers
  • Prepare investment budgets
  • Handle the contract and installation management and perform commissioning and performance tests

Moreover, once the world opens up again, you will travel 50-60 days per year visiting our factory sites primarily within Europe and North America.

This is what you offer
You have a bright and analytical mind and are able to stay focused regardless of potential obstacles that may occur. And as a person, you are a highly driven individual that can take charge and ensure commitment to the solutions and processes you create and maintain.

Moreover, you:

  • Have the theoretical foundation and solid relevant experience from a similar position at a material handling or logistic consulting company
  • Preferably have project management experience of CAPEX projects, or alternatively, you have a strong aspiration to take this move as your next career step
  • Have a BSc or an MSc in production engineering, planning engineering or similar
  • Possess a profound understanding of visualisation tools
  • Speak and write English fluently – Danish is an advantage

This is what we offer
You will become part of a highly competent team counting some of the best engineers within their field. And you can anticipate a lot of responsibility in this position combined with a high degree of independence and freedom to solve your tasks as you see fit.
