Warehouse Specialist Job Summary
The Warehouse – More than an area to facilitate the distribution of goods, it’s an integral part of the ROCKWOOL supply chain that provides day-to-day management of finished goods, the housing of inventory, and is responsible for on-time shipment of products to meet customer orders. As a Warehouse Specialist, you will support operations to meet the needs of the factory, ensuring accuracy of information in SAP, completing paperwork for inbound and outbound materials, and efficiently running the dispatcher office to ensure that all orders are shipped to schedule. Be part of a team motivated by continuous improvement, operational uptime, and ensuring the efficient movement of our product across the United States at our manufacturing facility in Ranson, WV.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities of a Dispatcher?

  • Implement a diligent inventory management process to account for product location and distribution which often involves using physical stock counts and investigating discrepancies and adjusting errors.
  • Acts as a liaison to outside vendors and carriers, ensuring a customer-minded focus and effective communication.
  • Working within a team-oriented and fast-paced environment, ensure the correct product volumes are produced and delivered against production plan and key performance factors as part of the customer order fulfilment team.
  • Effectively communicate with Forklift Operators to ensure smooth flow of product into storage, pre-load and live-load areas
  • Adhere to ROCKWOOL’s established high-quality and environmental standards to identify and mitigate or escalate quality or environmental risks and issues.

What professional skills and qualifications do you need for the role of a Dispatcher?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing and maintaining inventory systems.
  • Previous experience operating a forklift, clamp truck, or electric pallet jack is preferred in a continuous flow manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Grow and develop the team by sharing knowledge and experience.

The employee is occasionally required to hear, walk, climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk, and smell.

The employee must frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 60 pounds and/or occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 120 pounds with another person, shovel heavy waste to shoulder height, operate a powered industrial vehicle and use sharp instruments safely and effectively.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
