Sustainable Sourcing Manager

30 March 2021

We offer you the chance to be front and centre in building and implementing our sustainable sourcing capabilities.

Join an international company and be part of a great team of international colleagues as you become responsibility for taking sustainable sourcing to the next level, helping us maximise our positive product impact and minimise our operational footprint.

This is who we are
Stepping into our Safety, Health & Environment department, you will meet 9 colleagues who work across the entire ROCKWOOL Group globally. However, as you will be the only one in your department working with sustainable sourcing, you will also have a close link to our Group Sourcing & Procurement (GSP) team.

We have a very active and outgoing team as we’re in contact with ROCKWOOL factories around the world. It’s an atmosphere with focus on making a difference, room for a good laugh and a down-to-earth approach,” explains Camilla Ransfort, Global Director, Safety, Health & Environment.

This is the role
At ROCKWOOL Group, sustainability is at our core. So, naturally, this has to extend to our supplier base as well. That is why we need you to develop, implement and operate sustainable sourcing as a capability in ROCKWOOL in cooperation with GPS. An important aspect of this will be to implement an appropriate governance and processes, supported by a digital tool to ensure efficient supplier screening and monitoring of our supplier base.

Moreover, you will introduce relevant processes and structures around sustainable sourcing and act as a subject matter expert, guiding and training your GSP and other colleagues on supplier engagements as well as acting as second line of defense in our future sustainable sourcing governance structure. Specifically, you will:

  • Create policies, guidelines and processes governing sustainable sourcing
  • Participate in evaluation of suppliers submitted by the GSP category managers
  • Plan and execute required audits, either from your desk or on-site
  • Create, activate and follow up on corrective action plans in cooperation with GSP category managers
  • Communicate findings and decisions relating to sustainable sourcing to the responsible category director and category manager

This is what you offer
We need a colleague who is outgoing and diplomatic and can maneuver between departments and a large pool of suppliers effortlessly, knowing that they are in a supporting function to the rest of the group. You have a keen interest in sustainability issues and want to make a difference while appreciating that profound change does not happen overnight. A true team player, you thrive in an international setting, understanding that collaboration makes us greater together. We imagine that you:

  • Hold a master’s degree, in e.g. engineering, combined with some years of experience in sustainable sourcing
  • Preferably have experience from various procurement functions in production
  • Have some experience using digital sustainable sourcing solutions, and it is a plus if you have experience with sourcing software
  • Are fluent in English

This is what we offer
You will be part of a company with a green ambition. Here, we recognise that operating as a responsible and sustainable business is just as important as the significant positive impact our products have on people and society. That is why we have created our own sustainability goals while also aligning ourselves with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. If you want to put action behind your own green ambitions – and further your career in an international company – ROCKWOOL is the place for you.
