Process Technician Job Summary
The ROCKWOOL stone wool insulation production process is something that has continued to be refined over time often with the input of Process Technicians.  As a Process Technician at ROCKWOOL you will schedule and perform regular maintenance, cleaning and repairs of all equipment while also ordering machine parts and upgrading equipment to optimize line performance, documenting all machine maintenance along the way. You will be expected to provide technical expertise to the value stream and maintenance teams and take the lead on tasks that will lean on your project management and automation programming skills. You will be instrumental in the planning and develop projects encompassing process improvements, provide training to factory personnel, create work instructions and safe work procedures, and assist the factory in troubleshooting process issues. In the Process Technician role, you will be responsible for supporting areas of the manufacturing operation including curing, packaging and logistics.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities of a Process Technician?

  • Process and equipment monitoring and optimization in area of responsibility with a focus on operational uptime and waste reduction while looking for opportunities to improve operational standards.
  • Plan, analyze and control the quality of manufacturing processes, making equipment orders and improving or developing new work instructions and safety guideline for equipment use and instilling regular documentation for machine maintenance.
  • Collaborate with supply chain to ensure new auxiliaries are tested and documented for new material introduction.
  • Working closely with the production team to assess day-to-day results, complete reporting when there are problems or inaccuracies from technicians as part of the regular status updates.
  • Take leadership role providing training to new hires and other team members on relevant processes and equipment operation to ensure sage-work practices and continuous skills improvement.

What professional skills and qualifications do you need for the role of a Process Technician?

  • Technical Degree/Certification or equivalent experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of Siemens PLC Control System preferred.
  • Previous experience in specified technology field with proven technical ability in a continuous flow manufacturing or industrial environment and working with automated equipment required.
  • Grow and develop the team by sharing knowledge / experience.
