Using a manufacturing process innovated by ROCKWOOL, Rainscreen Duo Slab is made with a dual density – i.e. the outer layer has a distinctly higher density than the remainder of the product.
This provides a resilient surface for accepting mushroom-head fixings, while allowing the softer underside of the product to easily absorb any unevenness in the substrate.
Additionally this provides an acoustic benefit, in that the change of density causes sound waves to be reflected at the interface between the two layers.
