Sustainability and energy efficiency
At ROCKWOOL, making products that improve energy efficiency is at the heart of what we do. But we also want to ensure the materials we make, and how we make them, are sustainable too.
All our stone wool insulation is made from volcanic rock that is naturally produced and continually replenished by our planet. Likewise, our production processes are designed to reach ambitious sustainability goals.
Our production techniques include circular economy practices, reprocessing other businesses’ waste instead of virgin raw material as well as our own. We’ve also created our stone wool insulation to be recyclable and made sure it can be re-used, without affecting its quality.
Because of this, after just 200 days, ROCKWOOL insulation will have saved more carbon than was used in its manufacture.
For further information, Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are available for all of the stone wool insulation products manufactured in the UK. To request an EPD for flat roof insulation, please contact technical.solutions@rockwool.com.
