We are deeply saddened by the war on Ukraine and the tragic consequences it is having on the people there.
ROCKWOOL has four factories and 1200 employees in Russia. In round figures, that is approx. 10 percent of all ROCKWOOL employees. We produce products in Russia for the Russian market that help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and advance the green agenda.
Despite the war against Ukraine, we have chosen to continue operating in Russia. We do and will respect all applicable sanctions. As previously communicated, however, we have cancelled the EUR 200 million expansion investment in the Vyborg, Russia factory.
We understand that some people disagree with the decision to continue operating and we acknowledge the strong feelings that might create. But we are convinced it is the right thing to do. There are of course many considerations, above all else, our employees and their families. If we withdraw from Russia, it will first and foremost punish our own people and put at risk the livelihoods of their families. We do not want to do that.
For ROCKWOOL, there is no contradiction in standing side by side with the Ukrainian people and at the same time standing side by side with our Russian colleagues.
In an effort to help relieve the terrible humanitarian situation in Ukraine, ROCKWOOL has contributed to the Danish Red Cross and created a mechanism by which our employees can easily do the same.

Udtalelse om fortsatte forretningsaktiviteter i Rusland
Vi er dybt bekymrede og foruroligede over krigen mod Ukraine og de tragiske konsekvenser, den har for befolkningen dér.
ROCKWOOL har fire fabrikker og 1200 ansatte i Rusland. I runde tal er det ca. ti procent af alle ROCKWOOL-medarbejdere. Vores fabrikker i Rusland producerer til det russiske marked, hvor produkterne bidrager til at reducere udledningen af drivhusgasser og fremme den grønne dagsorden.
På trods af krigen mod Ukraine har vi valgt at fortsætte med at arbejde i Rusland. Vi vil fortsat respektere alle gældende sanktioner. Som tidligere meddelt har vi annulleret en investering på EUR 200 millioner i fabrikken i Vyborg, Rusland.
Vi forstår, at nogle mennesker er uenige i vores beslutning om at fortsætte driften, og vi anerkender de stærke følelser, den kan skabe. Men vi er overbeviste om, at det er det rigtige at gøre. Der er mange hensyn at tage, frem for alt i forhold til vores medarbejdere og deres familier. Hvis vi trækker os ud af Rusland, vil det først og fremmest straffe vores ansatte og sætte deres familiers levebrød på spil. Det ønsker vi ikke.
For ROCKWOOL er der ingen modsætning i at stå side om side med det ukrainske folk og samtidig stå side om side med vores russiske kolleger.
I et forsøg på at afhjælpe den frygtelige humanitære situation i Ukraine, har ROCKWOOL bidraget til Dansk Røde Kors, og vi har gjort det muligt for vores medarbejdere at gøre det samme på en nem måde.
