Level 2 GSL – Outfeed Operator Roles and Responsibilities
Job Description:
Grodan – Outfeed Operator maintains an efficient, clean, and safe workplaceÂ
without jeopardizing production or the environment.Â
Reports to: Grodan SupervisorÂ

Job Purpose:Â
Grodan – Packaging Operator is responsible to run the line in a safe, clean efficientÂ
manner while ensuring all products meet quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
SafetyÂ
Grodan – Outfeed Operator must be familiar with the potential dangers involved inÂ
his/her job and take the appropriate safety measures. He/she must always wear allÂ
required PPE. The job involves working with and around mechanical, pneumatic,Â
hydraulic, gravitational, and electrical energy. He/she must have a completeÂ
understanding of the lock out procedure and where lock outs are required in his/herÂ
area.Â
EnvironmentÂ
Grodan– Outfeed Operator works together with production and maintenance toÂ
ensure that production equipment is performing at highest efficiency levels toÂ
minimize the environmental impact.Â
QualityÂ
Grodan – Outfeed Operator works with the quality department and maintenance toÂ
ensure that all quality requirements meet or exceed specifications. He/she ensuresÂ
that all equipment is properly cleaned and maintained according to standards, soÂ
production can be performed with high quality results.Â
OperationÂ
ï‚· Set-up/adjust all equipment pre-stacker to pallet wrapper includingÂ
conveyor systemsÂ
ï‚· Monitor line to ensure continuous flowÂ
ï‚· Clean line from pre-stacker to pallet wrapper during planned andÂ
unplanned stopsÂ
ï‚· Communicate with PMO and maintenance equipment failures or oddÂ
noises immediatelyÂ
ï‚· Keep PMO informed if the line is not running for more than 15 minutes orÂ
when repeated stoppages occurÂ
ï‚· Ensure line is set-up for 2 hrs. into the next shiftÂ
ï‚· Train back-up operators as requiredÂ
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables - continued:
OperationÂ
ï‚· Coordinate/Assist with changeovers to ensure carboard/pallets and labelsÂ
are changed in less than 25 minutesÂ
ï‚· Assist with foil changes as requiredÂ
ï‚· Ensure line is always clean from the laser to the pallet wrapperÂ
ï‚· Willing to have flexible break times if called upon to keep the factoryÂ
producingÂ
ï‚· Ensure pallets are always available on the lineÂ
ï‚· Efficiently clear jam-ups in pre-stackerÂ
ï‚· Continuously monitor/remove and communicate poor sealsÂ
ï‚· Visually inspect finished pallets to ensure pallet is fullÂ
ï‚· Visually inspect packaging qualityÂ
ï‚· Ensure correct labels are appliedÂ
ï‚· Ensure labels are being applied straight and within 2 inches of top/side ofÂ
every palletÂ
ï‚· Ensure retrieval code is printed on slabs clear and legible.Â
ï‚· Ensure Band-all roll changes are completed efficientlyÂ
ï‚· Any other tasks as necessary or designated.
CleaningÂ
ï‚· Maintain clean and tidy work areas from the Pre-stacker to Pallet wrapperÂ
ï‚· Clean up your job area after a task has been completed or before youÂ
leave the jobÂ
ï‚· Ensure tools and equipment are placed in designated areas when tasksÂ
are completedÂ
ï‚· Ensure all tools are returned to the shadow board after every taskÂ
ï‚· Ensure flap bin is emptied before end of every shiftÂ
ï‚· Assist PMO as requested to maintain the work area cleaned andÂ
organized throughout the shiftÂ
DocumentationÂ
ï‚· Register issues on Sticky Notes according to ROPEX policies andÂ
assure these are communicated thru the available Machine Boards.Â
ï‚· Complete all changeover documentation to ensure smooth changeoverÂ

Basic Physical Requirements

position requires a high level of concentration.Â

ï‚· The ability to lift 100 pounds with another personÂ
ï‚· The ability to shovel heavy waste to shoulder heightÂ
ï‚· The ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions for 8-12Â

ï‚· Ability to wear protective + safety equipmentÂ
Communication and Working RelationshipsÂ
The PMO - PMO reports directly to the Grodan Production Supervisor.Â
This position has no direct reports. He/she works closely together with:Â

ï‚· QualityÂ
The PMO works closely with the Grodan Production Supervisor and givesÂ
instructions or directions to Grodan General OperatorsÂ
