MEET BJØRN RICI ANDERSEN: TO LIVE UP TO OUR PURPOSE, WE HAVE TO FIND THE BEST AND MOST INNOVTIVE WAYS TO RELEASE THE NATURAL POWER OF STONE

“I do believe that our purpose is super relevant to our daily work within the functional teams and it is something that we take very seriously. To live up to our purpose at ROCKWOOL, we have to find the best and most innovative ways in the world to release the natural power of stone. The teams that I’m responsible for help us to do exactly that.

We strive to develop the best technology, create the best products and to operate in a competitive space that allows us to deliver our products efficiently to our customers.”

When Bjørn meets with people outside of ROCKWOOL and talks about his work, he usually ends up discussing ROCKWOOL’s purpose.

“Our sustainability goals and the role we play in making them a reality are very important to me. Signing up to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) was 100 percent the right move for ROCKWOOL. Committing to cut one-third of our lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions is very ambitious and gives us a very clear sense of direction.

It is very exciting to be one of the few energy-intensive manufacturing companies whose emission reduction targets have been verified by the SBTi. For me, taking ambitious climate action is the most important way that we can improve modern living and it is the aspect of our purpose that I am most proud of.”
