History of DEUTSCHE ROCKWOOL GmbH & Co. KG

The ROCKWOOL Group began producing stone wool in Denmark in 1937. Production in Germany started in Gladbeck in 1954; this was ROCKWOOL’s first production facility outside Scandinavia.

In 1974, the production facility in Neuburg an der Donau was established as the second production site in Germany. The production facility in Flechtingen has been part of DEUTSCHE ROCKWOOL since 1991. In 2004, DEUTSCHE ROCKWOOL celebrated its 50th anniversary. In 2020, ROCKWOOL commissioned a new production line in Neuburg for stone wool insulation products for flat roofs and external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS).
