Why do we need industrial insulation?

Hazards and harmful impacts from fires, CO2 emissions, excess noise and heat damage can be a concern on many production sites. Industrial insulation helps to combat and protect against these risks, ensuring:

  • Higher fire safety standards – stone wool insulation acts as a natural fire barrier and can protect highly combustible elements from flame damage, protecting your employees and business.
  • Efficient temperature regulation – thermal industrial insulation for different elements of your production facility can help keep temperatures level within them, ensuring your investments are safe long-term.
  • Lower chemical and noise emissions – the products we’ve sold in just one recent year will save customers, including those on industrial sites, up to €77 billion in lifetime energy costs. So we can help keep your operating costs down as well2/3.

Calculator and savings

Making savings on your energy output is critical, particularly in a world where coping with rising operating costs is a constant battle.

By installing our solutions, you could help to reduce your energy usage and contribute to cutting CO2 emissions.

When working out how much insulation you’ll need for your operating site,

we recommend taking two main factors into account:

  • Budget
  • Type of installation

ROCKWOOL Technical Insulation will help you find the right solution for your operating facility.

Case studies

The challenge

The Noor Power Station in Ouarzazate, Morocco, is the world’s largest solar power plant complex. It provides renewable electricity to more than one million people and contributes around 14 percent of Morocco’s energy mix.

However, poor insulation meant that some of the solar energy generated had been lost. This hampered the plant’s ambitions to lower the country’s carbon emission levels.

The solution

ROCKWOOL Technical Insulation has provided many thousand square metres of insulation products – including industrial pipe insulation – to help insulate tank roofs, walls and pipework. This includes:

  • Wire mats
  • Pipe sections
  • Slab insulation

The results

The technical applications within the plant are now more energy efficient, with less solar energy lost.

This improved solution can help the Moroccan government achieve its target of generating 52 percent of its total energy from renewable sources by 20307.
