Supporting local artists and promoting local business growth.

ROCKWOOL is proud to support our local communities with arts and culture events such as the Downtown Milton Street Festival

Keeping the festival’s tradition alive

Local community culture. That’s the core of the Downtown Milton Street Festival. A culture of tradition in that every year the Town of Milton and the Downtown Milton Business Improvement Area (DMBIA), puts on this event which has become a staple in the community for more than a decade having grown to attract over 90,000 attendees, and serving as an unofficial kickoff to summer.

This event is designed for families of the community to enjoy time together, surrounded by local artists and entertainers including The Spoons, The Decent Blokes, and The Cheer Sport Sharks, among many others. In addition to the live entertainment, the festival will feature food trucks, a kid’s zone, and a wide variety of featured local vendors as well as businesses from the downtown core.

Annual attendance is estimated at more than 90,000 people with many also taking part for the opportunity to participate in community engagement with their fellow residents, business owners, community groups, neighbours and visitors. Regardless of your age, it’s a celebration to understanding the different cultures that make up the growing Milton area.

ROCKWOOL is proud to be supporting the event which has been named one of the top 100 festivals in Ontario (2014, 2015, 2017) according to Festival and Events Ontario, and helps to drive local tourism for the community of Milton as the presenting sponsor of the event for the second consecutive year.

This festival is truly a community celebration. There is something for every member of the family to experience; from children’s activities to Big Band music. Attendees can enjoy visiting with neighbours while exploring local vendors and enjoying local entertainers.

Supporting community arts and culture

Come one, come all. We feel honoured to be support Milton’s event which offers a diverse set of programming. As a member of the Milton community since 1988 and long-time advocate of the importance of arts and culture, we believe that these types of events bring a sense of pride and identity to the community.

We identified arts & culture as a core pillar within our corporate social responsibility platform, and endorse the report from the Department of Canadian Heritage outlining the broad range of economic and social benefits to individuals and society that comes from supporting the arts and culture sector.

We also believe in the non-economic benefits that come from supporting these activities in the community including improvements in health, education, and general citizen wellbeing. As an organization we’re proud to have built strong and lasting partnerships with community organizations including the Town of Milton, the Downtown Milton Business Improvement Area (DMBIA), the Milton Chamber of Commerce, Milton District, Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, the United Way, among others.

The Downtown Milton Street Festival brings businesses, local artisans and the community together to celebrate arts and culture. These partnerships help make the street festival stronger and ensures its success year after year.
