ROCKWOOL International is announcing capacity expansion plans through the acquisition of land with an eye to establish three new production facilities. The group will invest in these new locations to enhance its future geographic coverage and improve customer service.
These initiatives supplement investments made in recent years, particularly the strong commitment to the North American market. This commitment includes opening a stone wool factory in Mississippi and the subsequent ground breaking for an acoustic ceiling tile facility at the same site for the Rockfon brand.
“We have well-established market activities in these countries. Over the past years we have seen steady growth in our position and are confident in a continued positive outlook. This investment confirms our desire to respond to market demand and bring our latest production and technology closer to our customers,” says Jens Birgersson, CEO and President of ROCKWOOL International A/S.
The land acquisitions are expected to be finalized during 2017.
“An investment in technology and production is above all an investment in people. We look forward to a strong partnership with the local communities as we are certain that the additional manufacturing plants will also be major contributors to the local economy. Each of the locations we’re considering represent an outstanding opportunity to attract a highly skilled workforce and access excellent transport links,” continues Mr. Birgersson.
“This is an exciting time for the ROCKWOOL Group. Our strong financial performance has given us the means to accelerate the new site acquisitions, a necessary step for future profitable growth,” concludes Jens Birgersson.
