Deputy Manager SAP EWM Basis

Purpose & Scope of the role

 

 

 


The Team Lead for the SAP EWM Basis team will be responsible for building, managing and developing a high-performing team of 6 SAP Basis consultants based in Chennai. This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability, scalability and efficiency of the SAP EWM platform, while driving operational excellence and fostering a collaborative team culture. The Team Lead will act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategy. The Team Lead will support the roll out of the Platform to more factories and liaise closely with the manager of the overall SAP Basis team.

 

Key responsibilities and Job content


Lead, coach and develop a team of 6 SAP Basis consultants, ensuring delivery of high-quality support and project work for our SAP EWM System.
Oversee and report on daily operations, including incident management, change management and system monitoring to ensure system stability and performance.
Collaborate closely with HR and other departments to address compliance, employee relations and team development.
Drive recruitment, onboarding and integration of new team members as the team expands.

Set clear goals, monitor KPI’s and ensure continuous improvement in service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Act as the escalation point for complex technical and operational issues, coordinating with global teams as needed.

Foster a culture of feedback, open communication and professional growth within the team.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.

Support integration tasks between the Chennai team and the European SAP Basis team, contributing to global SAP initiatives.

Professional Competencies


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field (Master’s preferred).

Minimum 12 years of management and SAP Basis experience.

Deep understanding of SAP Basis technologies, including system architecture, upgrades and performance tuning.

Experience with ITIL processes and best practices in IT service management.

Strong project management skills and familiarity with global delivery models.
