Why do we need metal stud wall insulation?

A metal stud wall can help achieve an architect’s interior design vision, with the ability to apply plasterboard and paint finishes to suit a room’s aesthetics.  

Effective metal stud wall insulation can act to reduce the sound transfer between neighbouring spaces and minimise the risk of fire spreading. 

This second point is especially important when a metal stud wall is installed adjacent to a designated escape route.

Slabs, batts and boards can be easily installed in the space between the wall. The metal studs work as a secure and protective framework – holding the insulation material in place. 

Most products are available in varying thicknesses for a perfect fit – and can be easily cut to the right size for your project.

  • Measure your wall – Work out the surface area and depth of your metal stud wall to calculate the right amount of insulation required. 
  • Pick the best product – Depending on the size of the wall and what you hope to achieve, certain products may be better suited. Consult our experts or product brochures for more details. 
  • Consider the finish – Think about how the wall will look, and your desired finish, before you begin installing. The finishing material might require a specific frame width or stud size that affects the entire build-up.
