As companies increasingly incorporate Environment, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) into their operationstransparent and clear ESG communication has become a sought-after commodity for investors and analysts alike

To acknowledge unique efforts within financial communication, the Danish Finance Society has established a special prize that is given annually. ROCKWOOL is this yearwinner

“In line with our purpose and valueswe have committed ourselves to a fact-based and auditable approach to document how we maximise our products’ impact and minimise the impact of our operations. To support our sustainability targets, we started to host quarterly investor calls solely dedicated to ESG topics, says Kim Junge Andersen, Chief Financial Officer at ROCKWOOL Group.

ROCKWOOL is the first company in the Nordic region to host quarterly ESG calls. When describing the motivation for highlighting ROCKWOOL, the Danish Finance Society points to ROCKWOOL’s ESG calls as being an important factor.

ROCKWOOL pioneers financial communication by proving that it is possible to integrate ESG in their business model as well in the communication with all their stakeholders, including analysts and investors”, says Thomas SteeHansen, member of the Accounting Committee of Danish Finance Society. “This special prize recognizes ROCKWOOL’s outstanding efforts in communicating ESG in a transparent and tangible way.

The Danish Finance Society deems ROCKWOOL’s quarterly ESG presentations to be relevant, fact-based and to provide an in-depth insight into how the company works with ESGFurther motivation for the special prize includes the fact that ROCKWOOL provides an overview of the concepts and definitions used in the climate debate, while also taking stock of the international climate regulation and the EU Taxonomy.

On receiving the special prize, Kim Junge Andersen says, “It’s an honour to receive the prize, and it’s been gratifying to see the level of interest our ESG calls generate. We consider the prize to be good evidence that we are meeting a need from the investor and analyst community.
