Crop Consultant Asia Pacific & Mediterranean

About the role

We are looking for a Crop Specialist who will provide expert technical support to high‑tech greenhouse customers in Asia Pacific and Mediterranean regions. You will work closely with growers and our partners in region to optimise crop performance with focus on root zone management, both on-site and remotely.

You will be based in the Netherlands and be an integral part of our wider Crop Advice Europe & Asia team.

Main responsibilities

• Deliver crop advisory support to Grodan customers in Asia Pacific and Mediterranean (on-site and remote).
• Provide practical, science-based guidance on root zone management, specifically irrigation/fertigation strategies to improve yield, quality and uniformity.
• Use GroSens root zone data platform to support customers remotely, translating data into clear grower actions.
• Support Sales teams & our partners in region with technical input including & when required joint customer visits, following up on substrate trials and facilitating / presenting in technical seminars / training events.
• Provide structured Voice of Customer feedback to Product Management to support new product and solution development.

Your profile

• BSc or MSc in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agronomy or a related field.
• Experience in high‑tech greenhouse horticulture, ideally hydroponic vegetable production (e.g., tomato, cucumber, pepper, leafy greens; cannabis experience is a plus).
• Strong ability to translate technical knowledge into clear, practical advice for professional growers.
• Confidence working with crop and root-zone data (turning insights into actionable recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills and comfortable working across cultures and time zones.
• Willingness to travel internationally 17–20 weeks per year.

• Dutch (preferred/ideal) and strong English (spoken and written).
• Additional languages (e.g., Spanish) are an advantage.

• A team player who actively shares knowledge and contributes to standardisation and continuous improvement.
• We are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this position. Candidates must already be authorized to work in the Netherlands.
