About this product
ROCKWOOL Frontrock® is a stone wool insulation board designed for mechanically attached Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS).
Frontrock is noncombustible and supports improved energy efficiency, moisture control and acoustic performance for both new construction and retrofit projects.
Frontrock provides consistent density and high compressive strength, and is a component of tested and certified EIFS in the U.S. market.
- Noncombustible and fire resistant
- Water and moisture repellent
- Vapor Permeable to support drying
- Excellent acoustic performance
- Dimensional stability to maintain performance
Why use stone wool insulation
- Non-combustible, Class A insulation, stone wool works to contain a fire and prevent its spread.
- Provides a stable substrate without causing undesirable stress on the EIFS lamina.
- Vapor permeable enabling wall systems to have superior drying potential, and meets industry standards for drainage efficiency (ASTM E2273).
- Manufactured with tight dimensional tolerances and simple to cut on the job site or in prefabricated EIFS applications.
- Manufactured from one of the world’s most abundant raw materials without the use of blowing agents or toxic flame retardants.
Applications
- A component of tested and certified EIF systems.
- Meets requirements for use in fire-resistance-rated construction and any construction type.
- Helps to meet local building codes that add restrictions to combustible materials.
- Allows for construction without height or setback limitations.
- Ideal for new build or retrofit projects in WUI (wildland urban interface) zones.
