ROCKWOOL Frontrock™ products are semi-rigid and non-combustible stone wool insulation boards engineered to be used in mechanically-fastened exterior insulation finish system (EIFS) designs.
ROCKWOOL Frontrock™ products are semi-rigid stone wool insulation boards that are non-combustible and fire resistant, and will not develop toxic smoke or promote flame spread, even when directly exposed to fire.
The mono-density version provides consistent density and high compressive strength throughout the board, specifically designed for EIFS manufacturers fabricating the boards to incorporate a geometrically-defined drainage cavity (GDDC) within the stone wool insulation.
The dual-density version features a high-density top layer that helps reduce base coat consumption during installation by using its high density outer layer to provide added compressive strength to the board. The lower-density inner layer reduces board weight, allowing it to better adapt to wall irregularities. This insulation is ideal for EIF systems using adhesive ribbons for drainage.
Manufactured with tight dimensional tolerances and simple to cut on the job site or in prefabricated applications, stone wool is flexible and easy to work. Mechanically-fastened as part of your long-term EIFS cladding assembly, Frontrock™ also contributes toward improved energy efficiency, thermal comfort, moisture control, and acoustic performance in new construction and retrofit projects.
