What are the day-to-day responsibilities for this role?
We are seeking a high-energy and experienced HR Professional to join our team. This role will report to our Sr. HR Partner for the U.S. market and serve as an integral part of the local management team who will oversee all aspects of the local human resources practices and processes. Within this role, you will bridge management and employee relations with the goal of promoting employee engagement while enabling business success through strong HR management.
The HR Manager will develop, implement and monitor HR strategies and initiatives that align with the business strategy & objectives. They are also responsible for managing and resolving complex employee relations issues by conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations.
In this role, building relationships within the HR practice are instrumental. You will partner with the Recruitment Specialist to manage the local recruitment efforts and selection process, and conduct new employee orientation and exit interviews, work with our Compensation & Benefits Specialist to support and manage local programs, as well as the Learning & Development Specialist to assess training needs, provide training solutions and monitor training programs.
As part of the local management team, you will oversee the performance management system to drive high performance, ensure compliance with all federal, state & local employment laws, while also providing day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (i.e. coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
HR participates in the administration of our Health & Safety programs and helps nurture a positive work environment for all employees. You will also be asked to analyze trends, market data and metrics in partnership with HR Management to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
What skills are we looking for in applicants?
- Minimum 5 years experience in an HR leadership role
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including compensation, recruitment, employee relations, diversity, performance management, benefit programs, and employment law
- Experience and knowledge of HR systems, Workday experience a plus
- People oriented and results driven
- Ability to build and manage working relationships at all levels of the company
- In-depth knowledge of labor law & HR best practices
- BS degree in Human Resource Management or related field or equivalent work experience
- SHRM certification a plus
Note: some out-of-area travel will be expected with the possibility of some out-of-country travel.
