The technical aspects are of great importance for the successful implementation of Rockflow. We are happy to help you identify or calculate the right technical aspects so that you can draw up a suitable Rockflow design.

We offer a number of general guidelines and (detailed) drawings for creating a Rockflow design. The step-by-step plan on this page provides you with a step-by-step overview of the necessary data and downloads. If you have any questions, you can contact the Rockflow specialists directly via the red button.

01

Required volume

Based on the surface area to be disconnected, the design rainfall event, and the storage requirement, you calculate the required Rockflow stone wool volume in cubic metres.

02

Location and type of system

Every project location is unique, and your Rockflow design can be adapted accordingly: Is the location suitable for long, narrow water storage systems, such as in a street? Install Rockflow as a linear buffer with multiple inlet/house connections on the side. Is Rockflow used under a square or parking area? Opt for the rectangular central buffer with water supply at the two ends. You can also choose to install one system or multiple locations for water storage. In this step, you determine the best combination of systems and system types for your project.

03

Installation depth and type of Rockflow element

How much underground space is available for your water storage system is determined by the groundwater level and traffic load during the construction and use phase. Based on these parameters and the different available Rockflow element heights and strengths, you can quickly find the optimal installation depth and system height for your design.

04

Hydraulic design

Now that you have determined the volume (m³) and desired height (m) of your Rockflow system, you can look at the hydraulic design. For optimal filling and emptying behavior of your Rockflow system, we use a number of basic design principles, including:- Water supply ducts every 1.2m- Ventilation ducts every 3.6m- At least two ventilation points- Various options for delayed discharge or an emergency overflowTip: We have worked out the basic principles as a drawing for you. You can find these as .dwg and .dxf files in our download section.
