You will be executing projects from start to end, together with a connected team of engineers in our Headquarters, Hedehusene and on-site on our factories, experiencing your contributions are put in play!

Stepping through the doors at our office space in Poznan, Poland, you will be a dear member of Group Technology (GT) – which is part of the main ROCKWOOL organisation. At GT we collaborate on creating and handover machines and on-site equipment, sometimes entire production lines to our factory production sites throughout Central Europe and US. Therefore, you can expect a lot of business traveling.

You will become an important colleague of our Hot End, Fluids, Waste & Abatement department, where you and your engineering are responsible for some of our unique essential in-house production equipment, e.g., spinners, spinning chamber, curing oven, etc.

What you will be doing: 

As our coming mechanical engineer, you will be responsible for delivering key equipment used in our stone wool production. In this role you’re the expert on – and key contributor of – design solutions, working on both small and larger projects with various scope. Your responsibility will be design, specification, time schedule, budget and quality for your scope in the project.

During your workday, you will interact hands-on in fiddling with the design to get it just right, making drawings, getting the right components and supervise co-workers on-site at the factory on how they use your designs optimal.

More specifically, it will be up to you to:

  • Participate with different contributions in small machine delivery projects as well as support large international green field factory projects
  • Analyse production equipment needs and investigate production incorrections
  • Create mechanical designs for specific equipment
  • Communicate and collaborate with suppliers of parts for our equipment to place orders and follow up to secure the necessary compliance with specific design needs
  • Visit factories where your design is installed and travel throughout Europa, North America and beyond to supervise your implementations on-site, as well as to support and collaborate with your international team
  • Partake in budgeting and the development of tender material for suppliers

What you bring:

With your committed and considerate nature, you enjoy working together with partners and colleagues across professional divisions and geographical borders so that you implement the smartest solutions together. You easily communicate and come forward with your ability to make decisions on your own, thus being able to progress the projects you are involved in both independently and through others.

You always ensure to come up with quality and you organise yourself easily in passing solutions on in a timely matter.

To be confident in this position, we assume that you:

  • have 5+ years of experience from a similar position, working with mechanical design, machine construction, design specifications and 3D modelling using Inventor or a similar modelling program
  • Hold a degree in mechanical engineering, and it is a great plus if you also have a background as a smith, mechanic or other type of crafts-professional
  • Are fluent in English
