Climate & Environment

The fight against climate change starts at home yet it is capable of creating more than a million new green jobs worldwide. Better energy efficiency in buildings not only mitigates climate change and pending crises in the supply of fossil fuel, it is also one of the most cost effective means of generating green growth.

The  Climate & Environment 2009 report from Rockwool International A/S substantiates the claim that energy efficiency in buildings is a key solution to obtaining a low carbon society. An 80% reduction of CO2 emissions from the industrialised world before 2050 – this is the challenging call from the UN Climate Panel (IPCC). In the case of buildings, the report documents an optimistic 'Yes, we can!' and shows a variety of inspiring examples of how to do it. It also pinpoints the barriers that must – and can – be removed. Furthermore the Rockwool report offers a summary of the status of the Rockwool Group’s own carbon footprint and environmental performance.
