Economic gain

The beauty of energy efficiency in buildings is that it not only reduces CO2 emissions, but also saves money by saving energy. A growing number of reports (e.g. from ECOFYS, Stern, McKinsey, CEPS and the UN’s IPCC) all point to the fact that better energy efficiency in buildings particularly by means of insulation is one of – if not the - most cost-effective measure to reduce CO2 emissions.

E.g. IPCC says: “Energy efficiency options for new and existing buildings could considerably reduce CO2 emissions with net economic benefit.”

Societies all over the world are actually losing money by not taking initiatives to save CO2 and costly energy in their buildings.
