Fight fuel poverty, save CO2 and create jobs all at once

Too many Britons live in fuel poverty. One way to fight this is for communities and government to pay for the insulation of their homes. It saves householders money, cuts CO2 emissions and creates jobs.

WWF: Efficient buildings are the easiest way to reduce CO2 emissions

By investing in energy efficiency in buildings, the EU can cut 6% of its CO2 emissions and create 280,000-450,000 new jobs in the building sector by 2020.

Scotland is one of the first countries in the world to introduce a climate change bill making it possible to fine businesses and home owners if they do not take action to improve the energy efficiency of their properties.

Government offers rebate on insulation down under

Some 2.9 million households in Australia will benefit from a new government insulation scheme that offers a rebate on loft insulation.
